ALTERNATIVE RATIO TYPE ESTIMATOR IN SAMPLE SURVEY

Abstract
In this study, an alternative ratio type estimator is proposed. Expressions for the bias and the mean square error of this proposed estimator are obtained. This proposed alternative ratio type estimator was found to be more efficient than the conventional estimators considered in this study with respect to their estimated biases and mean square errors. Six of the fifteen data set used in this study supported this claim.
